Former bartender and restaurant manager Brittany Scharr is trying to brighten restaurant workers' lives amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Scharr is a former bartender and restaurant manager in the Philadelphia area. She told ABC News, "It was really heavy on my heart knowing they were struggling from the original shutdown." So she wanted to do something about it. She posted a plea on Facebook saying that she would like to gift "twelve restaurant service members with $100 each of the 12 days of Christmas." She set up a fundraising page and within days, thousands of dollars came pouring in.

Today the fund has reached almost $18,000 and Scharr has been able to hand out cash gifts to 100 servers and counting.
