A Sick Lunchbox Misses Survivor’s Nearby Treasure Hunt
If you missed it this week on The Bobby Bones Show, you missed a wild story about Lunchbox—and I’ll just say it, he’s one of the best characters on that show.
Lunchbox came down with a serious case of strep throat. But the strange part? It wasn’t just his throat. His face and eyes swelled up so badly that people started wondering if it was really strep at all. The pictures he shared showed major swelling, and some even compared him to that famous allergic reaction scene in the movie *Hitch*. It looked painful.
He played audio from when he was sick, and you could hear how rough it was. His voice was weak, and he struggled just to get words out. He said he was in constant pain, couldn’t sleep, and kept waking up because he was uncomfortable and having trouble breathing. It sounded miserable.
And here’s where it gets even worse.
The same day he was stuck at home sick, Survivor announced a huge promotion for its 50th season. They hid immunity idols in all 50 states. If you found one, you’d win a trip to Los Angeles for the live reunion show and get to meet Jeff Probst. The idol in Tennessee was hidden just 1.1 miles from the Nashville studio—in a park Lunchbox knows really well.

He had signed up for updates and had been counting down the days. He truly believed this could have been his big break. But instead of searching, he was stuck at home, swollen and sick. By the time he felt better, the idol was already gone.
