Could Scuba Steve Have Made the NBA?

It all started with Scuba Steve insisting that, with the right support growing up, he could’ve made it to the NBA. Bobby pushed back, saying even with more practice and encouragement, Scuba simply isn’t built like an NBA player. A caller chimed in after watching old videos of the show playing basketball and didn’t hold back—calling Scuba “zero athletic ability” and saying he could barely dribble.

Bobby agreed, gently, suggesting that maybe with proper support, Scuba could’ve averaged seven to ten points in high school. That’s when the bombshell dropped: Scuba never even played high school basketball! He explained that his dad left when he was nine, which led to a quiet moment in the studio. Bobby reminded everyone that athletic ability often comes down to natural movement, not just upbringing.

The 40-Yard Dash Bet

Then came Scuba’s next bold claim—he said he could outrun “the fattest guy” on the Tennessee Titans roster. Bobby picked JC Latham, a 6'6", 342-pound offensive tackle with an official 40-yard dash time of 5.46 seconds. The bet? If Scuba beats that time, he wins $500 cash. If not, the team gets to draw a full head of Sharpie hair on his bald head—and he has to wear it for a week!

As plans for the race were being made, Scuba casually mentioned he has a hernia and upcoming surgery from “violently throwing up.” The timing raised eyebrows, but Scuba promised to run anyway, saying it would make his victory even sweeter. Bobby warned him to stretch and not cheat by timing himself beforehand. The challenge stands: beat 5.46 seconds or rock the Sharpie hairdo!

Amy & Bobby Share Big Life Updates

The show also got personal with Amy and Bobby sharing the three biggest things happening in their lives. Amy’s juggling an unexpected trip to California, her sister’s big visit (and first in-person meeting with Amy’s boyfriend), and wondering what it means when her boyfriend asks for her opinion on home renovations.

Bobby’s updates? His wife’s pregnancy, his broken foot, and holiday travel plans—all while shutting down rumors about ESPN job talks. He made it clear: no plans to leave, just focusing on family and recovery.
