Tim McGraw is about to play the PRCA Rodeo in Nashville, Tennessee so he stopped by The Bobby Bones Show studio to talk about his life lately.

Before his tour last year, McGraw had back surgery and things were healing well. However, he had been compensating for his bad back for so long that his knees then went out on him so he had to finish up his tour with two bad knees and a bad back. When he finished up tour, he had to have 3 back surgeries and a double knee replacement. He's finally on the upswing now, but some mornings it takes him awhile to get moving.

McGraw admitted that he's never liked what he does when it comes to acting. He finds it really hard to watch himself, all he sees is himself pretending to be someone else. As for music, he's pretty solid and sure about what he likes. He knows instantly which songs are going to work or not after cutting in the studio. He will often go into the studio with 15 to 20 songs, some of those songs he loves right off the bat. Meanwhile, other songs he thinks won't do well in studio, but they end up being the ones he likes best. He did a collaboration on his song "Paper Umbrellas" with Parker McCollum. He wanted a new artist on the song, he thought McCollum was perfect for it and it was his first choice. McGraw admitted he was worried that McCollum wouldn't like it when he sent it over, but he loved it.

Despite all of his accomplishments, McGraw also admitted that his daughter performing on Broadway makes him more nervous than anything he has ever done. He felt the same way about his wife Faith Hill on tour. He never tried to talk his kids out of a creative career though, he always anted them to chase their passions. He's so proud of her and was excited to share she has a performance airing on PBS from Carnegie Hall airing on Veteran's Day. Also speaking on tour, McGraw admitted one time he had a fan flip him off multiple times during a show. But by the end of the show, he came to shake McGraw's hand near the stage and handed him a coin from the military.

Bobby Bones asked him how he's kept his relevancy all these years later and he likes to think it's the music. He said everyone in this town sings and every artist is an artist for a reason, but at the end of the day, the songs are what make the mark. If you have songs, it's the key to longevity. He has always experimented with music, so there really isn't a consistent style he's stuck to. He does know some of his songs have similarities, but every album has a lot of different styles.

While visiting the studio, McGraw brought a bunch of cowboys with him from the PRCA Rodeo that he's set to perform at in Nashville next weekend. With McGraw was Patrick Humes, Tim O'Connell, Cody Custer, and Cole Reiner to talk all about the PRCA Rodeo coming to Nashville. They also shared their experience with bull riding and bareback riding, as well as competition and all the things that come with the rodeo.
