A Mom Reflects On Her Son’s Brave New Brace-filled Chapter
Amy from The Bobby Bones Show shared a funny and sweet update about her son, who’s in 8th grade. After years of asking for them, he finally got braces! He’d been wanting them for a while, thinking they’d make his smile even better. But now that they’re on, that excitement has turned into a little bit of nerves.

Amy said her son’s adjusting to life with braces, including a small lisp that showed up right away. And like most teenagers, he’s already worrying about what the girls at school might think. He’s also realizing that a year and a half to two years sounds like forever when you’re only 13!
Bobby reassured her that it’s all part of the process. He told her once those braces come off, her son’s confidence will shoot through the roof. Bobby even shared a story about when he got veneers. He said they had to shave his teeth down first, and he spent two whole months wearing temporary ones that didn’t look great. He laughed remembering that he actually had a girlfriend during that time—though Amy joked that might be why the relationship only lasted two months!
Eddie jumped in too, saying his boys aren’t anywhere near the braces or girlfriend stage yet. None of them are even talking about girls! So for now, Amy’s son is leading the way in the teenage milestone department—with braces, nerves, and a big smile that’s only going to get better.
