When Bobby Bones published his first book Bare Bones: I'm Not Lonely If You're Readying This Book, that was his listener's first raw glimpse into Bones childhood. In the book, he talked a lot about where he came from. He also talked about his relationship with his biological father and their first real meet-up in his adult life.

Since then, Bones will touch on his relationship with his father during The Bobby Bones Show, but it wasn't until today's show (August 16) when he really explained their relationship now. A listener called in to the show asking about the situation with Bones' biological father. Bones shared that his biological father left when he was just a kid around 5 or 6-years-old. The two of them didn't meet again until 2017/2018 when Bones was in his mid-thirties.

Bones recently opened up about the situation and admitted, for a lot of his life, he was really angry at his real dad. He was upset he didn't have a 'Dad influence' until he was a teen with Arkansas Keith. At this moment in his life, Bones noted that he and his biological father will talk occasionally.  Bones and his sister have a close relationship and his biological father's brother was at his wedding.

The whole situation has taught Bones how he doesn't behave as a dad. He admits that his biological father is just a guy that made a couple of mistakes, but it still scares him to be a parent because he doesn't want to be like his father.
