Every week I like to keep my eyes open for the weirdest stories. Sometimes these stories make you shake your head, sometimes they make you laugh. No matter the case, they beg the question, What Were They Thinking?

This week's "What Were They Thinking?" takes us to Des Moines, IA where two brothers got into a dispute over peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

Police in Des Moines, IA say Jerome Davis pulled a knife on his brother after the two had a disagreement on a healthy amount of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. The argument also extended to overall laziness. It's reported that the victim ate three PB&Js, and attempted to make a fourth within an hour.

Jerome Davis has since been arrested and charged with domestic abuse with a weapon.

I guess the biggest lesson here is that you never should talk politics, religion, or peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
