Motley Crue is officially breaking up and has announced a farewell tour at a press conference Wednesday.

A moment of silence for all tape cases. For the younger generation, a "tape case" was a leather briefcase with slots that could hold up to 50 cassettes. Cassettes? Okay...those were...never mind.

A country music connection was also discussed at the press conference Wednesday hinting at a tribute album featuring Florida Georgia Line, Cassidy Pope, and Leanne Rimes covering Motley Crue songs. Can you imagine FGL covering "Girls, Girls, Girls", or Leanne Rimes singing "Don't Go Away Mad (Just Go Away)?"

Along with the announcement came one of the best exit lines in music:

Everything must come to an end. We always had a vision of going out with a big f—ing bang and not playing county fairs with 1 or 2 original band members. Our job here is done." - Tommy Lee
The farewell tour, which will feature Alice Cooper as the opening act, has Motley Crue in Sturgis, SD (8/5/2014), Sioux City (8/6/2014), Omaha (11/13/2014), St. Paul (11/15/2014), and Fargo (11/16/2014)
One of the best metal hair bands of the last 30 years is leaving the stage. My tape case is flying at half-staff today.
