Percy Harvin scored two touchdowns, Christian Ponder threw for two, and the defense stifled the Titans Sunday afternoon at Mall of America Field in Minneapolis as the Vikings posted a 30-7 win to run their record to 4-1.

Harvin put the Vikings on the board with 2:31 left in the first quarter on a 4-yard TD run. Rookie kicker Blair Walsh added two first half field goals as the Vikings went into halftime with a 13-0 lead.

Walsh got the scoring started in the second half with a 26-yard field goal. Late in the third quarter, Harvin took a dump pass behind the line of scrimmage from Ponder on a 3rd and 5 play from the Titans 10 yard line and made seemingly half the Tennessee defense on his way to the end zone and a 23-0 lead.

Tight end Jered Cook finally got the Titans on the board with ten minutes left in the game on a 10-yard TD catch. Ponder put the final points on the board with a beautiful 15-yard pass to TE Kyle Rudolph. It was Rudolph’s 4th score on the season.

Ponder finished 25-35 for 258 yards and the two scores. He was also picked off for the first two times this season.

Adrian Peterson ran for 88 yards on 17 carries as Minnesota ran for 175 yards on the afternoon on 31 carries.  The Vikings defense also bottled up Titans RB Chris Johnson all day as he only gained 24 yards on 15 carries.

The Vikings will travel to Washington next weekend, who lost rookie QB Robert Griffin III to a concussion in their loss to Atlanta. He’ll have to pass all the tests to be able to face the Vikings Sunday.

The Vikings and Chicago Bears sit atop the NFC North with 4-1 records after Chicago hammered Jacksonville 41-3. Green Bay is now two games back after another tough loss, 30-27 at Indianapolis. Detroit was on a bye this weekend.
