I get it. Many folks are dreaming of a White Christmas. However, there are advantages to no Snow In December.  We could still be loading up the sleigh, warming up some rocks to keep the toes warm, and head on out to Grandma's house to park in the driveway for a virtual Christmas.

2020 has been a strange year and that has carried over all the way through the month of December.

I was chatting with my neighbor, Al the other day and we both agreed that many times in December, we're already pretty used to shoveling and blowing snow off the driveway. This year, not so much. To tell you the truth, I'm kind of OK with it.

Sure, we need moisture. If you are a farmer or a rancher, you'll pretty much take it any time of the year. But this year, it seems like kind of a nice break for December. For me anyway.

Wednesday afternoon I was tooling down the highway and I noticed this herd of good-looking Angus cattle basking in the sun while the temperature on the car read 58 degrees. That's with no wind. It was stellar. The fact that these cows are still on corn stalks is most likely a welcome sight for the producer as well. The cattle aren't stressing in deep snow and they probably haven't had to fire up the loader to feed hay. Yet.

It's coming. Colder weather. Snow and all the awesomeness it brings with it. But having seen four people riding motorcycles and numerous windows rolled down on the way home as I traversed 57th street I couldn't help but think, there are advantages to near 60 degree days in December. 2020 or not, I'll take it.

How about you? Do you like the warmer weather? Or are you ready for some snow! Let me know what you think in the comments on our Facebook page or email me anytime at jdcollins@kikn.com.
