Gov. Dennis Daugaard has been chosen Viborg to be South Dakota’s Capitol for a Day on Monday, July 22.

This announcement is part of the continuing effort by South Dakota Governors to spend time in smaller communities. The Governor brings key staff  people along to interact with local officials and citizens.

Governor Daugaard stated:

“I look forward to  the Viborg event, and thank community leaders for offering to host . It’s an excellent opportunity for me to get better acquainted  with them and more informed about local issues and the future of the Viborg  area.”

Included with the meetings of business and community leaders will be a coffee and constituent outreach, later in the day.

Viborg Mayor Kyle Christiansen is pleased for the opportunity:

“It is  an honor to be Capitol for the Day and I look forward to showing the Governor  all that Viborg has to offer.”
