More on Army Sergeant Jerry Majetich:
For the last several years, The Bobby Bones Show has released a new patriotic #PIMPINJOY line with The Shop Forward that gives all of the proceeds to Building Homes For Heroes.
Each new line has raised thousands of dollars to go to help build a home for a hero via Building Homes For Heroes. This year the line is going to help build a home for Army Sergeant Jerry Majetich & his wife Mary-Ella. Army Sergeant Jerry Majetich has been through so much during his time serving our country. He joined the military in 1988 because he wanted to better his life while serving and protecting his country. He served for 20 years, including a stint in the Marine Corps, before being honorably discharged in 2007.
While riding in a vehicle convoy, Staff Sergeant Majetich’s vehicle was struck by an IED, causing severe injuries. In the firefight that ensued, he was shot four times before being airlifted out for emergency care. He suffered burns on more than one-third of his body, including his face and scalp, the loss of his ears and nose, right hand and fingers on his left hand to amputation, the removal of part of his intestines and stomach, a fractured spine, fractured left foot, and bullet wounds in his right shoulder and right leg. He also suffers from PTSD and a TBI. Since his initial injuries occurred, he has undergone 80 surgeries to date and is currently still recovering at Walter Reed Medical Center.
For his service to his country, Staff Sergeant Majetich is the recipient of the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal (5th Award), Army Achievement Medal (3rd Award), Navy-Marine Combat Action Ribbon, Navy Unit Commendation, Army Good Conduct Medal (2nd Award), Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal (3rd Award), Southwest Asia Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with M Device (2nd Award), Navy Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (3rd Award), KU-LIB-MDL (Saudi Arabia), KU-LIB-MDL (Kuwait), Combat Action Badge, and the Expert Badge (Rifle, Pistol, Grenade).
