The latest star on the Hollywood goes to the Chevy Suburban, Car and Driver reports.

This is clearly a publicity stunt since GM is about to unveil the new Suburban and Tahoe this month, but hey, why not?  Animals, Muppets, animated characters and even Godzilla have received stars so why not a truck?

GM says the Suburban has appeared more than 1750 times in film and TV.  However, Internet Movie Cars Database lists almost 3000 appearances when you add in the GMC version of the Suburban.

Shrek can't say that so should maybe the 'Burban deserves some star treatment.

Cars can now qualify for Walk of Fame stars, who would have seen that coming?  But when you think about how cars are such a fixture in American life, it's an idea whose time has come.

What car is next?  Maybe Herbie the Love Bug, K.I.T.T., The General Lee, Marty McFly's DeLorean, Lightning McQueen?
