[Friday morning was a great listen to The Bobby Bones Show as he welcomed into the studios Thomas Rhett.] See Thomas Rhett September 5, 2019 at The Denny Sanford Premier Center.

Thomas Rhett has finally dropped his follow up album to Life Changes from back in 2017. Today (May 31) Rhett released his album Center Point Road that features collaborations with Little Big TownKelsea Ballerini, and Jon Pardi respectively. He celebrated the big release with our iHeartCountry Album Release party hosted by Amy of The Bobby Bones Show.

He stopped by The Bobby Bones Show to talk about his new album and his life lately. He first confirmed what his wife Lauren spoke to of their first kiss and the start of their relationship on the Get Real Podcast with Caroline Hobby. Lauren said that Rhett had told her that he had feelings for her and he wanted her to try to kiss him and see if she had any feelings in it. If she didn't, he wouldn't ever bring it up again and they would stop being friends. Rhett also added that he had told Lauren's dad first about his feelings for his daughter, turns out Lauren's dad was going to tell her if Rhett didn't own up to it soon.

In talking about his recent single "Look What God Gave Her," Thomas Rhett confessed some things about his music video and what ultimately made him put it out as a single. He says his kids were not supposed to be in "Look What God Gave Her" music video. They wiggled out of their grandparents' arms and they ran up to dad and started loving on him while the cameras still happened to be rolling. They decided to keep the shot and Rhett says he thinks it made it all twice as cool. As it turns out Bobby Bones was a main reason Rhett put out "Look What God Gave Her" as a single. Rhett had texted Bones to ask his advice on what to put out, but Bones wouldn't say yes or no to anything. Bones did however say that the song was catchy and almost had 'two choruses,' which was cool. Rhett confessed that was the confirmation he needed to put it out.

On the hot topic of the song "Old Town Road," Rhett went with the same answer Keith Urban and Jon Pardi said on whether it's country or not. Rhett said, "If you're talking about lyrics, yes. It's a country song over a trap beat" and then went on to say "You can't deny though how gigantic the song is." As far as some random topics and for those wanting to know a little deeper about Rhett, he says Brambleberry Crisp Ice Cream from Jeni's is his favorite, he didn't like the end of the Dexter TV show, and his current jam is "I Don't Care" by Justin Bieber and Ed Sheeran.
