The other day, posts on Facebook news feeds and tweets on twitter started up.  'Got my license in the mail, can't wait.'  That seemed to be the big buzz.  Rightfully so, we're getting close to 'climbing up.'!

If you're a rifle hunter, you have some time to wait.  If you're a bowhunter, like I am the time is here. The time is now.

Sure, you shoot year round.  And you're never really out the loop.  Asking where crops are planted.  Wondering if you're 'hung in the right spot.  Bow hunting keeps you sharp.  It also forces you to think about something other than work all day.

It's starting to creep in more.  Like ivy crawling up a hickory tree...Bow Season in South Dakota is almost on!

If you're like me and it's on your mind, I would like to remind you of safety.  Last year we heard a story we never want to hear.  A man died after suffering injuries sustained from a tree stand fall. He was a seasoned bow hunter.  THINGS happen.  It's just a reminder we include safety when making our plans.

While we're at it, we'll be running another edition of 'Show Us Your Trophy' with Manley Tire and Oil in Manley, MN. I personally, can't wait.

By the way, the picture is from 2009.  It's deer like that that make a hunter want to get up at 4:00 a.m. on their day off.  No problem at all.  I have 'the story,' on him coming later.

Bow Hunting in South Dakota opens Saturday, September 28th.
