AAA has announced this week that 46.3 million Americans will travel at least 50 miles or more by road this Thanksgiving weekend. More than 89 percent of travelers (41.3 million) will travel by automobile. The good news is that AAA also predicts most U.S. travelers likely will pay the cheapest Thanksgiving gas prices in five years.

With more people topping off their tanks and rumors of a "lower-than average" supply of premium gasoline in the pipeline that supplies much of the upper midwest has led to shortages of certain grades of fuel at some gas stations.

Signs like the one above were spotted over the last few weeks.
