The Sioux Empire Community Theatre (SECT) continually puts out top notch productions featuring amazing local talent.

SECT's next venture is The Amish ProjectThe Amish Project is a fictional story based on a real event. In 2006 a gunman entered an Amish school and started shooting. This play explores that event and the aftermath.

The play forces the audience to explore the tragedy from every angle and asks the questions how do we move on after tragedy and how do we forgive?

The show does feature heavy themes and strong language so patron discretion is advised.

This show is different from others you may have seen from SECT because it is a competition piece. SECT will be competing against other theatre's in the state in the Regional Festival for the American Association of Community Theatre.

So if you go to the show there will be no set when you walk in. The cast and crew will be timed for their set up of the set, the duration of the show, and the length of tear down. Just so you know what you're walking into.

The Amish Project is a limited engagement. Only three showings starting Thursday, April 6th through the 8th at 7 PM. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased in person at The Orpheum Box Office, by phone at 605.360.4800, or online at siouxfallstheatre.com.
