SIOUX FALLS - One person died in a two-vehicle crash on South Dakota Highway 42 about 22 miles west of Sioux Falls on Thursday. The crash occurred just after 8 a.m.
Two South Dakota Highway Patrol vehicles were struck Thursday morning by other vehicles as troopers responded to traffic issues during snowfall that created slippery roadway conditions on highways in the Sioux Falls area.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol, will close the northbound lanes of Interstate 229 between Interstate 29 and Louise Avenue in Sioux Falls on Wednesday, December 12, at 8:20 pm.
Early Wednesday morning, Trooper Steen was severely injured in the line of duty carrying out his sworn duty to the people of this community and to South Dakota: To Protect and To Serve.
