I'm prepared this year. My wife Lori and I thought a new leaf hauler would be a good idea. We found it at the end of July.

The song's message is about leaving your home to expand your horizons. It's a good theme, but not my chief reason for loving this song. I'm funny that way sometimes.

I remember Halloween fondly. Especially as a little boy in the 1960's.

Over the years, it has gone from much more than being a fan. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are family.

When you talk about cancer with others, it's easy to feel somewhat detached from it. When it hits your family, it gets harder to talk about. When that family member dies from cancer, it leaves you numb. Numb is how I'm feeling today.

Lori watches DWTS with the same enthusiasm I have as I watch the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Your men and women in blue definitely captured my attention and passion as a teenager. My dream was to become a fighter pilot. I dreamed of going the Academy. I became an athlete and a scholar in order to "measure up" to the tough standards your Academy requires for entrance both academically and physically.

Sunday morning runners from around the region will gather at Howard Wood Field for the start of the Sioux Falls Marathon and Half Marathon.
