If you plan on putting on a little blaze orange this fall and hitting the fields looking for the Wiley ring neck there's good news out today. The numbers are up and up big time. Up 42 percent.

State wildlife officials say the pheasants per mile index is at 3.8 up from 2.68 last year and 1.52 in 2013.

All this is great news. It really shows how pheasants can thrive in perfect conditions and survive through the tough times. Looks like it's time to call your favorite landowner and make some arrangements for next fall. You can bet that the lodges will be filling up fast with news like this!
