It was a busy weekend for Sioux Falls Police Officers. They were called out to an apartment on the east side of Sioux Falls amid reports of a gun being fired in one of the units.

"A woman wanted a ride," Police Officer Sam Clemens tells us. "A guy didn't want to give her a ride because she was acting a little off. She got angry, pulled out a gun and threatened him with it. Her boyfriend saw this taking place. Two guys wrestled the gun away from her. Our victim was looking at the gun later and thought it was fake. He was playing with it and shot the gun. Thankfully nobody was hurt. But, both of them were arrested. She was arrested for the aggravated assault. He was arrested for possession of a firearm while intoxicated and reckless discharge.

In another weekend incident, a love triangle turned sour---ending in an assault and arrest.

"We had a guy dating a woman and found out that she had a different boyfriend. They ended things. He left his gym on Saturday morning. As he was leaving, a guy followed him. That's when he thought the guy was the boyfriend. They stopped in the southwest part of Sioux Falls. He went to talk with the boyfriend to find out what was going on. The boyfriend ended up pulling out a large dowel and started hitting the man with it. They exchanged some blows."

29-year-old Joshua Thordarson of Sioux Falls was charged with aggravated assault.
