A Sioux Falls man is in custody in Minnesota after an incident with his girlfriend and several other people on Wednesday.

Police say the 19-year-old man was driving around with his 18-year-old girlfriend, but at some point refused to let her out of his SUV.

She contacted some friends who agreed to meet near 60th Street North and Sycamore Avenue to pick her up, but as she went from one vehicle to the other, her boyfriend rammed the friend's car.

Officer Sam Clemens says the man grabbed his girlfriend as she tried to run, and he dragged her back to his SUV, then threw a 27-year-old woman to the ground as she tried to help.

Clemens says the man pushed his girlfriend into the SUV and had a teenage boy drive away, dragging the woman who was trying to help.

The boyfriend got away but he was arrested around 7:30pm in Pipestone, Minnesota.

No one was injured and Clemens says the man is expected to face charges.
