Gary LeVox of Rascal Flatts says he wouldn't have been able to perform at the ACM Awards on Sunday if the band had not decided to lip sync. The trio performed 'Rewind,' and immediately the social media world was abuzz with rumors they were using a track.

Flatts confirmed on Facebook and Twitter that they did indeed lip sync, saying LeVox lost his voice last week but they didn't want to cancel the high-profile television gig. The decision was made last-minute.

"We've never done it before, and we're obviously not very good at it," they crack.

Rascal Flatts picks up their tour again this Saturday in Laughlin, Nev. After that they'll enjoy a two-week break. The Rewind Tour officially begins on May 16. Their new 'Rewind' album is set for release May 13.
