As our nation celebrates its 238th birthday, Mayor Mike Huether will be feeding the masses, or at least the first 5000 that show up!

Yep, it's time once again for the annual "Mayor's 4th of July Parade and Picnic" on Friday, July 4th in downtown Sioux Falls.

The annual mayor's parade and picnic is always one of the most anticipated events of the summer in the Sioux Empire.

In addition to the free lunch at 11 that morning in Falls Park, they'll be live music from the Sioux Falls Municipal Band at 11:30 and Mogen's Heroes at 12:30 P.M.

The day kicks off with a free 5K fun run/walk at 8 A.M. Check in for the race begins at 7:30  outside the Overlook Cafe at Falls Park. Register by Wednesday, June 25th to receive a free t-shirt.

The 4th of July parade follows the race down Phillips Avenue to Falls Park. The parade promptly begins at 10 that morning. You can be part of the parade, simply decorate your ride in a patriotic theme and join the fun. See the parade route below and register for the parade in advance here.
