I was over at the Sprint store on South Louise for a remote broadcast Friday. One of the employees said, you should get one of these JD. What's that Kayla? She said,

It's a selfie stick. It should work fine, we'll hook it up to the blue tooth on your Samsung Galaxy S5 so you can click the pics from the handle of the selfie stick.

So we hooked it up and got my phone talking to the selfie stick and I have to admit it's pretty cool. So, like the complete moron I can be when looking at some new contraption started clicking a bunch of pics.

While I was messing with the apparatus I couldn't help but remembering how an uncle of mine would always take Christmas pictures of his family. I can still hear Dad saying,

Andrew took this picture of his family, you can see the cord running in the back of the camera to the camera. Note that he's holding his hand behind his back and clicking the picture of the family.

The world of photography has changed so drastically since the dawn of digital cameras. The S5 that I use courtesy of Sprint Sioux Falls takes incredible pictures. Now I was a purple ribbon winning photographer in 4-H growing up, so I know just enough about photography to be jealous. But it's true. They take amazing pictures!

I use the S5 to not only take pictures, but to archive other important information. Click a pic of a favorite passage in a book. Stumble on a good bottle of wine, click a picture.

Selfie Stick. Might have to head back to the store and get one. For under $40 it would be cheap entertainment. Then again, people may look at me funny for carrying it around. In fact some places like Disney World and Disney Land say leave your Selfie Stick at home. .

How about you? Do you have a Selfie Stick?
