If you have kids you know how expensive Halloween can be. Let's see; there's candy, costumes, decorations, haunted houses, and, did I mention candy? It's a great time for kids but it can also be a little taxing on mom and dads' pocketbook.

We've gone through Thomas the Tank Engine, Captain Jack Sparrow, Buzz Lightyear, every kind of superhero you can imagine, and several princesses through the years. Now that they've outgrown them, what do you do with them? Handing them down is an option but you run the risk of hearing, "dad, Iron Man is soooo last October!"

If you are looking for an easy and affordable way to Halloween costumes for your kids this year without breaking the bank try the Kids' Costume Swap on Saturday, October 13th, from 9 - 11 a.m.

It's held at the The Siouxland Library, main branch at 200 North Dakota Avenue.

Drop off gently used costumes at any Siouxland Library before October 12th and they'll give you a ticket for every costume you contribute, which you may then exchange for costumes at the swap.

Customers with donation tickets may shop from 9 to 10 a.m. All others can shop from 10 to 11 a.m.
