Kickin' Country Voice Guy Shares Bighorn Sheep Stories [PHOTOS]

At Kickin' Country, we have a guy that does our 'signature voice work stuff.' He's one of the best in the business. His name is Steve Wood. You have heard his voice on Kickin' Country for nearly 20 years. Steve lives in Arizona and for 3 months out of the year, I'm pretty jealous. In the summer, not so much.

Steve and I share quite a few passions. I love talking to him about Country Music, those serving our country in the military and hunting. Check out this e-mail I received from Steve last week.

My cousin Randy went out into the Eagletail Mountain Wilderness, 60 miles due west of Phoenix if you want to Google Earth them and set up his trail cam on a tank. These tanks are all created by the Big Horn Sheep Society where on weekends everyone goes out to build these tanks. I have been on several sheep projects where we all make a weekend out of it and have use of a helicopter to get us all close to the site if not right on it for the project. All the concrete, shovels, generators , people etc are all flown in for these projects.

Knowing Randy this tank is in a place where you can really only get to by helicopter. Without the bird this hike would be grueling.

December 1st, Randy’s nephew Brandon and my little cousin is drawn for Desert Big Horn in the Eagletail’s. All of my family have taken sheep from these rugged beautiful mountains. I’ll be on this hunt with my dad and all of the Wood family. Should be fun.
