Sioux Falls Police was able to find more to the story of a man that was beaten and later died of his injuries. Another man is believed to be involved.

A press release from the Department lists 33 year old Nathan William MacTaggart as the additional suspect. The arrest warrant was issued yesterday on Aggravated Assault charges and appeared in court today (November 29). The arrest warrant carried a $25,000 bond.

The original incident happened at a house party in the 800 block of North Teal Place on November 3. At the time two teenage girls were accused of beating a 55-year old man quite severely and he died on November 5 from the injuries suffered.

During the Police Briefing after the incident, Sioux Falls Police Department Public Information Officer Sam Clemens described the series of events.

"During [a] party we had 16-year-old and 17-year-old girls punch a 55-year-old man several times in the head. We know they punched him. We are not sure if any objects were used."

"This continued on for a good amount of time. Eventually, people kind of left the party. The man stayed behind in his home. It was Saturday night when some neighbors found he was unresponsive. He was sent to the hospital. Doctors discovered he had a 'brain bleed' which is life threatening."

Police also said at the time that there was drinking involved. MacTaggart is the only one in the case that has been identified as the family of the victim has invoked Marsy’s Law.
