I saw it on twitter the other day. Huge international archery event coming to Yankton, South Dakota.  Part of the press release read,

The NFAA Easton Yankton Archery Centre was unanimously awarded the right to host the 2015 World Youth Championships by World Archery’s Executive Board in May.

The bid, submitted by the National Field Archery Association Foundation, met all the Executive Board’s stringent criteria, designed to select the most suitable host for a World Archery Youth Championships.

The reason I wasn't too surprised is because of a guy whose name is Bruce Cull. Bruce owns Dakota Archery in Yankton.  When you talk archery in South Dakota Cull's name comes up.  I recall  Bruce 'talking about the possibilities' during a conversation in 2000 about how Yankton, South Dakota could become the Bulls-eye of the Archery World.

At the time, I found myself thinking, 'I guess that could happen,' But when take into account the passion for the sport that Bruce and people working around Dakota Archery have it should come as no surprise.

Shout out to Cull who is National Field Archery Association President.  It's a huge score for Yankton, South Dakota as well as an even bigger score for the state of South Dakota. Well done, and we'll be watching!
