Fakecationing This Summer?

Now why didn’t I think of something like this?

The latest trend is absolutely perfect for all the workaholics of the world, or all those people out there that are a little low on dough and unable to take an actual vacation to an exotic destination every year.

The new photo trend making the rounds online these days is “Fakecationing.” That’s when people take fake vacation photos in exotic places, and then try to pass them off as being real on social media.

No longer do you have to feel like some kind of loser as you look at all your friends incredible vacation photos from magical places around the globe. You now have a chance to keep up with the Jones’ as you take a series of Fakecations yourself.

Think of the possibilities.

Imagine this weekend Fakecationing in Paris, as you and your significant other take a couple of priceless photos of the two of you standing in front of the Eiffel Tower.

Or maybe you feel like taking a Fakecation next week to the Mayan Ruins in the Yucatan Peninsula, in Mexico? Now you can, with the perfect photo and you strategically placed in front of it.

How does one take the perfect Fakecation you ask?

The main technique to pull it off correctly involves you putting a picture of a vacation spot up on your TV or computer screen, then strategically posing in front of it so it looks like you’re actually there.

Then you simply post that picture to Facebook or other social media sites to make all your friends envious of your world travels. As you begin to cross them off, one by one from your bucket list.

And the beauty of it all is your friends will actually think you were in Rome checking out the Vatican, when in essence you were really at home aerating the lawn.

It almost sounds like an idea George Costanza from “Seinfeld” would come up with. The only downside is trying to lay your hands on some souvenirs. I guess that’s what Ebay is for right?

I think I’ll make Bora Bora my first Fakecation destination. Look for pictures starting Monday.
