A new Virginia Class Submarine has been named after our State of South Dakota. The hull number will be SSN-790 and there is much to do in preparation to support a US warship bearing the same name as the most decorated US Battleship ever.
Attend a meeting on Saturday, January 9th at 11am to 12:30pm at the Sioux Falls DAV located at 1519 W 51st St, to discuss the upcoming commissioning of the USS South Dakota SSN 790.
Learn the purpose of the Navy League, Navy League how it functions for the promotion of the Navy League chapter in South Dakota in the community and what is needed to get the chapter started in the state.
As members of the United States Submarine Veterans organization, Scorpion Base chapter here on the east side of the state, we have been asked to assist in that venture by the USS South Dakota SSN-790 Commissioning Committee.
Submarine Veterans are providing a free will donation chili meal to all attendees following the meeting at 12:30. All Military, Army, Air Force, Coast Guard, Marines and Retired Navy Veterans are invited to attend.
