SIOUX FALLS - If you’re thinking about building, remodeling or just putting in a new sink, you should check out the Sioux Empire Home Show going on this weekend at the Sioux Falls Convention Center.

“The home show is really the kick off to spring building and remodeling,” said Marci Pirlet, a manager at Frisbee’s Plumbing and Heating.

More than 200 exhibitors are offering up freebies, discounts and advice about how to make your home better. The home show is the place to find out about the latest, trendy styles in home needs.

Pirlet said there’s something for everyone at the home show.

“Do-It-Yourselfers can get ideas, if you’re creating a “green” home there is information on LED lighting, high efficiency windows and furnaces.”

High tech homeowners will be intrigued by the smart thermostats that are controlled through an app on their iphone.

The home show gets people thinking about the repairs and changes that they want to make and this is the place to see which businesses can best suit your needs.  The Home Builders Association sponsors the event.

A free shuttle is available to help prevent parking issues. Because of the construction on the new events center parking may be difficult to find.

Admission is $7 for adults, kids 12 and under are free.

The Home Show runs til 9 pm Friday night, from 10 am – 9 on Saturday and from 11 am- 5 pm on Sunday.
