Back in 2006, Joe Noe had an idea to decorate his home in Crooks, South Dakota and set the display to modern holiday classics. He set up a low watt radio transmitter in his home and people would sit in their vehicles listening to holiday music while watching the display. He set up a donation box near his mailbox to collect donations for Make A Wish South Dakota. In the first year alone, he made a donation of over $16,000!

After several years, Noe sold his house and moved the display to the Western Mall in Sioux Falls in the center court and turned over the display to Brian Schumaker who, along with some volunteers, sets up the castle light display to new songs every year.

The 2014 version of Christmas at the Western Mall will run from Thanksgiving night (November 27) through New Year's Day (January 1, 2015) and will once again be a freewill donation to Make A Wish.

Since its inception, the fundraiser has granted dozens of wishes to very sick kids in our state as they've raised nearly $200,000!

Stop out with friends and family every evening from 5:30-9:30pm for the display which will include music from Trans Siberian Orchestra, Idina Menzel, Straight No Chaser, and more!

Christmas at the Western Mall 2014 is presented by Scheels.
