Chase Ends In Arrest

Crazy morning for authorities ends in an arrest. We don’t know what prompted a morning standoff in the Sioux Empire.

Authorities say that a Sheriff’s deputy approached the man in a pickup earlier this morning in Minnehaha County. The pickup did not pullover and the man sped off, leading authorities on a chase that went across state borders into Iowa and then back into South Dakota.

The suspect was arrested north of Canton, Lincoln County Sheriff Dennis Johnson said.

The pursuit ended at about 11:30 a.m. at a home near the corner of 278th Street and 483rd Avenue.

Two search airplanes and a dog were used to find the suspect.
