Carrie Underwood has stepped forward in a huge way to help tornado victims in her home state of Oklahoma.  According to the Associated Press, she has donated one million dollars from her Blown Away tour to the American Red Cross tornado relief efforts.

"I have watched the devastation in my home state of Oklahoma over the past several days with great sadness," Underwood said in a statement. "With the help of my fans who attended my concerts over the past year, we can offer the Red Cross a little extra help in comforting those affected by the recent tornadoes."

Underwood grew up in Checotah, Oklahoma, about 115 miles from Moore where 24 people lost their lives in Monday's tornado. 9 of them were children.

She is not the only celebrity that is coming to the aid of Oklahoma.  Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant has donated one million dollars to the Red Cross, which the team pledged to match along with National Basketball Players Association.
