We're getting ready for a great show with Martina McBride and Scotty McCreery at The Denny Sanford PREMIER Center, but did you know that Carly Pearce was going to be part of the show?

I was listening to Bobbycast, a podcast that Bobby Bones puts out and he was talking with Pearce. While listening, I found out quite a bit about her.

Carly Pearce was a good student, but checked herself out of high school to pursue her musical career with the blessing of her dad. At 15 she auditioned for and secured a position at Dollywood. Her hopes were to spend a year there and then move on to Nashville. I also found out that Pearce isn't her real last name, but the last name of her grandpa who died when she was 18.

Carly will open for Scotty and Martina as part of the South Dakota Cattlemen's Association Prime Time Gala, a fundraiser for Feeding South Dakota.

If you listen to the podcast, you'll discover that Carly's DREAM was to play the Grand Ole Opry. While she was struggling to get started, it was what she wanted to do. Part of her journey had her as a backup singer on that stage. The story behind the story of her coming to Sioux Falls, is the performance she is is actually playing the Grand Ole Opry.

Listen to the podcast. Listen to her speak. Her speaking voice is beautiful. Soothing. Then, listen to her new song called Every Little Thing. You'll like her! Maybe even love her. If it's a perfect world, we might have Bobby Bring his show to Sioux Falls and have Carly come back after her show in June.

Listen to Bobby Bones and Friends Weekday mornings 5:00 AM-9:00 AM on Kickin' Country.
