Brad Paisley stepped out of his comfort zone with his eighth studio album, ‘Wheelhouse,’ and it certainly paid off, as the record debuted at No. 1 this week on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart.

Not only did the star take a few risks in the album, saying in the liner notes, “We only had one rule with this record: to throw out the rules,” but he also produced it, something he did for the very first time.

‘Wheelhouse’ marks Paisley’s seventh consecutive studio album to debut as the nation’s country best-seller, and it also arrived at No. 2 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart.

Although there was definitely some controversy surrounding a few of the singer’s tracks in recent weeks, he was extremely confident in the loyalty of his fans, and they did not disappoint him, with more than 100,000 albums sold thus far.

With 14 songs, three interstitials and a whole lot of exciting collaborations, the three-time Grammy winner put his whole heart into this record, writing or co-writing all of the songs, and clearly stretching past his ‘Southern Comfort Zone’ into new territory.

Paisley will be kicking off his Beat This Summer Tour in May, with special guests and fellow country crooners Chris Young and Lee Brice, hitting 29 cities and having a whole lot of fun this summer.
