Augustana Football Kick Off

The new look Augustana Vikings look to 'kick' their 2013 campaign off in style with their home opener this weekend at Kirkeby Over Stadium on the campus of Augustana College in Sioux Falls.

We say 'new look' because it will be the first game for new head coach Jerry Olszewski. (pronounced Oh Chef' Ski)  If you hear Jeff Fylling referring to him as Coach OJ, it sounds like that's what the players call him.

We'll see what the season holds in store for the Vikings.  They might not have the depth they've had in past years, but that's the neat thing about college football in the NSIC.  It has it's ups and downs and drama but one thing is for sure.  The players work hard all the time!
