Normally a Monday is not the day to decide to "tip a few back".  But when Monday is on April 7, 2014, and it just happens to be National Beer Day....why NOT celebrate the holiday?

National Beer Day is celebrated nationally by many beer enthusiasts.  Even though it is an unofficial holiday,  (you probably aren't going to get the day off of work...unless you take a vacation day) it is a holiday celebrated by beer lovers every April 7th.

This unofficial holiday is not a day created by Hallmark for the exchange of cards!  It is celebrated because of the Cullen-Harrison Act which was signed by President Franklin D. Roosevelt on March 22, 1933.  Senator Pat Harrison and Representative Thomas H. Cullen, the sponsors of the Cullen-Harrison Act, encouraged the legalization and sale of beer (as long as it was < 3.2%).  This was thought to be too low to get anyone intoxicated.  It went into affect on April 7, 1933, hence the birthday of National Beer Day.  And by the way....YES!....April 6th is known as New Beer's Eve!

And to help get you in the unofficial holiday spirit...enjoy The Beer Song!
