Wow!  It's really hard to believe we're ready to say goodbye to 2012!  The year has gone by faster than any other year in my life.  My parents told me that as I got older time would go faster.

I really didn't believe them at the time, but I'm old enough now to say that Mom and Dad were right.

As I look back on the last year, I have many, many blessings to be grateful for.  Some glorious things have happened and some not so good things.  But that's life.

  • My daughter Erin was married this past June and I have a wonderful son-in-law that I really enjoy spending time with.  Jim has been a wonderful addition to the family.
  • Daxson and Elli, my two grandchildren have grown some more and have become wonderful little people.  They are so much fun to be around and bring Lori and I unspeakable joy.  I am also blessed with their parents Kara and Shawn and Kelly and Amy in my life.
  • I am blessed with a home, a career and a wife who is everything to me.  I love Lori more now than the day I married her.

Oh sure, there are some lesser things I'm thankful for.  I'm thankful for a newer vehicle this last year, Notre Dame is undefeated and playing for the national championship for the first time since 1988, the new bathroom which had to be rebuilt, but none of these things really matter.

I am grateful everyday to have a roof over my head, three meals a day, a bed to sleep in and family and friends I love very much.

As we begin 2013, I am old enough to say that what really matters on our journey through life is the people we have in our lives and the memories we make with them.  I'm hoping to be blessed with more of the same.

Thank you for listening to us and following us this past year.  It's the people in our lives and the ones who cross our path who really matter.  I hope I never lose that vision. May 2013 be a year of fulfillment in every area of your life.
