There’s little question about what caused this phenomenon.  Just the immense amount of old corn stalks in such a small area is mind-blowing.

Just off Highway 18 east of Davis is part of the area that got huge amounts of rain last week.  As a result, the water carried the leftovers from the old corn crop out of farmer’s fields and deposited those stalks mainly in the ditch on the south side of the highway, up the back slope and into the field.

This may be as close to seeing a million of something as you can get.
