Sioux Falls Police Officer Gets Shot by Taser
Starting in 2015 all Sioux Falls police officers will be equipped with X2 Tasers and one officer in particular got to experience the weapons effects firsthand.
According to Sioux Falls Police Chief Doug Barthel, “Tasers reduce the risk of injury to both officers and suspects and provide another resource for the men and women who protect and serve our city each day.”
They may "reduce the risk of injury," but that doesn't mean it won't hurt - a lot.
As part of training, it isn't uncommon for officers to take part in being shot by a taser in order to better understand the weapon's effects. Recently, a Sioux Falls officer got to do just that. Check out the video and his reaction afterwards.
