Authorities say they hope to resume the search for a missing hunter. Brookings Fire Chief Darrell Hartmann says they hope to resume the search as early as this week, depending on the weather.

The search was suspended for Thomas Hill, 28, of White because of the adverse weather conditions on Thursday December 8, 2016.

Hill and his brother,  23-year-old Matthew Hill of Volga, went duck hunting on Brush Lake south of Arlington on Monday afternoon December 5, 2016.  When they didn't return that evening, authorities were notified.

Shortly after 8:00 PM Monday, the body of Mathew Hill was found with the boat capsized nearby. Their dog was found treading water and was rescued by authorities.  The search for continued in brutal weather conditions according to Brookings Radio.

Brookings County Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring says the entire shoreline was searched at least three times, on foot and using ATV's.  Watertown search and rescue used their remote-controlled submersible but was not successful in their search.
