Minnehaha County Bomb Squad Called Out Early Tuesday Morning

The Minnehaha County bomb squad arrived on the scene just off Highway 105 south of Garretson Tuesday morning to investigate a suspicious bag near railroad tracks.

As an early morning BNSF train was travelling near Garritson around 3:30 Tuesday morning, the engineer noticed a suspicious bag near the tracks with wires sticking out of it.

A train had been stopped on the tracks near the bag while the Minnehaha County Sheriff's Department investigated the scene.

Turns out it was a bag of someone's personal belongings.

County road 105 is open at this time.
