Over his illustrious carrier, Jackson has churned out hits to Country Radio. These are songs that resonate with the common men and women. If you checked in most country music fans' music collections chances are good you would see several tapes, CDs, and other memorabilia.
Having worked in Country Music for 'several years' I've seen Jackson several times. I make it a point to meet an artist only once and the first time I met Jackson was in Wisconsin at the Outagamie County Fair. Jackson was fairly new to the country music scene at the time and was actually opening for Conway Twitty. It was a gorgeous afternoon, a full racetrack infield of fans, and a great show.
I also caught Jackson as part of the George Strait Country Music Festival in Kansas City years ago. When he did The Bluesman, that was definitely a highlight in my concerts attended.
Later he played a show at The Sioux Falls Arena (Jake Owen opened). This show was important to me as I did more time watching fans trying to figure out what song they came to hear. When you have 26 #1's like Jackson does, that made for a lot of concerts 'watching.' My takeaway that night? His song 'Like Red On a Rose' just about put a couple of ladies over the edge when they heard it.
Thanks for letting your Country Music FANS know about this concert and thanks ahead of time for sharing this story with your concert-going friends!
