Traffic at branch drop-off sites has steadily declined, and the storm-related debris is largely cleaned up. As a result, the City of Sioux Falls will return to normal branch disposal operations. The public branch drop-off site at 69th Street and Cliff Avenue will permanently close on Sunday, July 7, 2013, at 7 p.m. Free mulch will no longer be available from this location.

The City will continue to take branches at the Sioux Falls Regional Sanitary Landfill, but will resume charging for wood waste loads beginning Monday, July 8. The charge for a load of wood waste is $2 per car, $5 per pickup, or $10 per ton. Hours of operation are 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

Free branch drop-off is still available at Mueller Pallets located at 27163 271st Street, Sioux Falls, SD. Hours of operation for Mueller Pallets drop-off site are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday 7 a.m. to 12 p.m., and closed Sundays.

Free wood mulch is available for personal residential use from the Sioux Falls Regional Sanitary Landfill during normal business hours. Customers are responsible for loading and hauling their own mulch, so they should bring bags, trash cans, shovels, or other items needed to load and transport the mulch.
