What is Medista-Polse?
Before I left town during my visit to Viborg, South Dakota Christy presented me with a gift. When I saw it at first I was thinking, yeah, well thanks. Medista Polse. I wondered what it was so I googled it up and Wikipedia says,
Medisterpølse, "medisterkorv" or simply medister, is a Scandinavian specialty food consisting of a thick, spicy sausage made of minced pork stuffed into pig intestines.
So, before I left I asked several people how to prepare it. One lady said, I just put mine in a frying pan, with just a bit of water, put a lid on it and steam it up.
I did. And it was; GREAT.
It looks like there are various spellings, but I'm curious, anyone else like it?
Please share this with your Scandinavian friends on Facebook and Twitter.
