Top 10 Stories for 2016 on KIKN.com
Let's face it, 2016 was not the best year in regards to news stories. From a contentious election, to massive security breaches, to terrorist attacks, to campus rape controversies, to mass shootings, to the loss of beloved figures (Merle Haggard, Prince, Harper Lee, David Bowie, Nancy Reagan, Mohammad Ali, Gene Wilder, Garry Shandling, Alan Rickman, John Glenn and many, many more).
Here in South Dakota thins weren't that much better. There were fights over ballot measures, protests over the Dakota Access Pipeline, battle over the transgender bathroom bill, teacher salary fights, debate over the new admin building and to top it off we had the tragic collapse of the Copper Lounge to end the year.
Fortunately, things were a little lighter here on KIKN.com, where our readers focused on the best places to eat, the best athletes, and familiar sayings. Looking back here are the top 10 stories from 2016 on KIKN.com based on the popularity. And you will NEVER believe what #1 is!
