It began as a report of suspicious activity at a West 12th Street convenience store in Sioux Falls, but it led to a pursuit involving two law enforcement agencies.

Police spokesman Sam Clemens says officers were called around 11:30 p.m. Monday to Cubby's at 12th and Jefferson, where a clerk noticed a car spending a long time at a gas pump, with a man getting in and out without buying gas.

Clemens says as police arrived, the car left and the driver wouldn't stop when police pursued it:

Clemens says the Highway Patrol picked up the pursuit and the vehicle finally stopped at 6th and Lake, where the driver and passenger were arrested for possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. He says the driver, 32-year-old Lakevis Tensley of Sioux Falls, was also arrested for aggravated eluding, driving with a revoked license, driving an unlicensed vehicle, open container, an existing warrant and several traffic citations.
