On Thursday morning, February 22, six Sioux Falls teens who are believed to be runaways led police on a high speed chase in Minnesota before crashing into another vehicle carrying a woman and an infant.

According to a press release from the City of Inver Grove Heights, MN Police Department, six Sioux Falls teens stole a vehicle from a gas station in Eagan, MN at 6:18 AM. Police attempted to stop the stolen vehicle but the pursuit was terminated after the stolen vehicle started driving northbound in a southbound lane. The stolen vehicle crashed into an SUV carrying a woman and infant. The infant did not suffer any injuries, but the woman had to be extricated from the vehicle and suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

The stolen vehicle was driven by a 15-year-old boy from Sioux Falls. He had five other passengers. Police believe they are runaways. The driver didn't suffer any injuries and was booked into the Dakota County Juvenile Detention Center on several charges.

Four other teens from the stolen vehicle were taken to the hospital with injuries. A fifth occupant was taken to a juvenile shelter until parents could arrive.
